Description
The texture of this wood is coarse and can come with a straight or interlocked grain.
The sapwood is clearly demarcated, and it is characterised by a greyish colour, while the main colour of the heartwood is a red brown with purplish glints that darken with light. Deposits of black resin can be found in the pores.
It has a good workability, but the drying process can be difficult since this wood is prone to distortions.
