Description
This wood presents a straight and uniform grain, and a fine and regular texture.
The colour of the heartwood ranges from a light yellowish brown to an olive brown and can manifest occasional streaks of grey and green. It is very differentiated from the sapwood, whose colours can vary from pale yellow to white.
The trees are huge and identified by their tulip-like flowers giving rise to the name. Tulipwood grows from north to south and is one of the most sustainable hardwoods in the USA.
